Presentation of New Colours and Laying-Up of Colours 2011

On the 2nd July 2011 Her Majesty The Queen presented new Colours to the Battalions of The Royal Regiment of Scotland during a parade at Holyrood Park Edinburgh, Scotland.

On the 3rd July 2011 the old Colours of the 1st Battalion The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders and the 3rd Battalion The 51st Highland Volunteers were laid-up in The Regimental Museum of The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in Stirling Castle, Scotland.

The day commenced with a Drumhead Service in the Church of the Holy Rude in Stirling where the Colours were deconsecrated. At the end of the service the Colours were marched to Stirling Castle where they were handed into the safe custody of the Museum.
