Opening Times
Easter to 30th September: 9.30 am – 5.00 pm
1st October to Easter:  10.00 am – 4.15 pm  
Please note that doors close 15 minutes before the stated times.

The Museum is open throughout the year, apart from two weeks over Christmas and New Year.  If you are considering visiting the Museum during late December or early January, please contact us to confirm the exact dates.
 
Admission
Entrance to the Museum is free; however a charge is made by Historic Scotland for entry to Stirling Castle.  
 
Access
Access to the Museum building is limited for those with restricted mobility, as the Museum is housed on two floors and there is no lift. Please contact us for further information. Large Print Guides are avaliable on request at the shop.

Facilities
Toilet facilities are located throughout Stirling Castle; however not within the Museum.
 
Museum Shop
The shop, offering a range of souvenirs and regimental items, is located on the first floor of the Museum.

Behind the Scenes

The Museum building was built in the 1490s, it was known as the “King’s House”, and was thought to be the private residence of King James IV.
