Regimental Plaque: Out of this World, 2000

In February 2000 this regimental plaque was taken into space on the Space Shuttle Endeavour. The group photograph shows the crew in zero gravity with the plaque floating in front of them; it was later presented to the Museum by members of the crew and NASA.

The accompanying small plaque (top right) reads:

“This plaque was flown aboard the Space Shuttle

Endeavour, STS-99, February 11-22, 2000.

Commemorating the proud heritage and traditions

of The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

From the National Aeronautics and Space Administration
