Argylls

Located in Stirling Castle, in the city of Stirling, Scotland, the Museum is committed to preserving over 200 years of the Regiment’s proud history.


Without Fear (Sans Peur),  officers and soldiers of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, their antecedent regiments and successor battalions have fought and kept the peace, at home and in far-flung places around the world. The deeds and courage of all officers and soldiers of our regiment will always be remembered with pride – Do not Forget (Ne Obliviscarus).

The Victoria Cross, founded by Queen Victoria in 1856, is Britain’s highest decoration awarded for bravery in the face of the enemy. Cast in the form of a Maltese cross, it is made from the metal of cannons captured at Sevastopol during the Crimean War.
